Hello, Gefion! Welcoming NVIDIA’s cutting-edge supercomputer to Denmark
At Corti, we are constantly exploring new technologies to drive innovation in healthcare, and NVIDIA has been a game-changing partner in the development of our AI.
Today, the Gefion AI supercomputer, built on NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, was officially launched in Copenhagen. Gefion is the result of a public-private partnership between the Novo Nordisk Foundation and the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark, which funded a new company, the Danish Centre for AI Innovation (DCAI) that owns and operates Gefion.
As a company born in Denmark, we’re proud to be part of this milestone. Our close collaboration with NVIDIA has shown us how powerful AI can be, and the launch of the Gefion AI supercomputer is set to revolutionize Denmark’s tech and healthcare landscape. This is a huge step forward, and we know it’s just the beginning.
AI rooted in Danish innovation
Being founded in Copenhagen, we’ve always been connected to Denmark’s tech ecosystem. Our roots are firmly planted in the European innovation landscape, dating back to a time when AI startups in Northern Europe were few and far between. But from those early days, we knew we could build something transformative. Fast forward, and now Denmark is hosting one of the world’s most powerful supercomputers.
As Mads Krogsgaard Thomsen, CEO of the Novo Nordisk Foundation, highlighted at today’s event: “The biggest need for accelerating research and innovation in Denmark is better, smarter AI-based computing power,” and we are proud to be part of answering that call, leveraging NVIDIA’s technology to build healthcare-specific models that will shape the future of diagnostics, patient care, and research.
Raising the bar for the future of technology
NVIDIA’s GPUs have long set the standard in AI computation, and at Corti, we rely on their technology to enhance our ability to process massive amounts of healthcare data. This lets us innovate faster, enabling real-time AI solutions that support healthcare professionals where it matters most—patient care.
Our AI models require immense computational power, and NVIDIA’s technology has enabled us to deploy sophisticated machine-learning algorithms at scale. Technology innovations like this one open up new possibilities for breakthroughs in diagnostics, patient care, and clinical research, all aligned with Corti’s mission to reshape healthcare through more trusted AI.
What this means for healthcare
As a key contributor to the event and someone deeply invested in Danish innovation, His Majesty King Frederik X highlighted the potential of AI in transforming healthcare, especially in improving patient care and driving forward breakthroughs.
In the beginning stages of Corti’s founding, the ideas that we had for what AI could do for healthcare seemed like a distant vision, something many believed to be out of reach. We often heard that what we were aiming for was impossible. Now, the progress we’re making is immense, and seeing these developments embraced by national leaders signals a turning point. This is no longer just a future vision, AI is becoming a powerful force in shaping the healthcare landscape of today.
The advancements we’re witnessing are reshaping how we approach patient care, diagnostics, and research, with AI moving from a theoretical idea to a practical, transformative tool. It’s a clear reminder that the pace of progress in healthcare technology is accelerating faster than we could have ever anticipated, and Denmark is leading the charge.
Building AI for healthcare, by healthcare
NVIDIA is a critical partner in Corti’s technological journey. Their cutting-edge advancements provide the power we need to make healthcare better, faster, and more efficient.
However, we’re not just here to be “yet” another AI company. We’re here to provide healthcare-specific AI that can truly address the critical needs of this industry.
The healthcare industry demands the highest level of trust and respect, and the tools we create must reflect that responsibility. In a world where much of today’s technology is built on general data sources—healthcare requires a different level of precision and care. We have to ensure that the AI we create not only enhances patient care but preserves the trust that healthcare professionals and patients place in these critical systems, without compromising safety or integrity.
So for Corti, this isn’t just about faster computation; it’s a symbol of pioneering the future of safe and trustworthy healthcare AI, right from the heart of our homeland.
